Private Commission - Terms of Service

Turnaround Time: The maximum turnaround time for your commission is 2 months. A 50% upfront payment secures your time slot. Booking in advance is recommended due to my tight schedule.

 

Payment schedule: 

1. 50% upfront (non-refundable, secures time slot)

2. 25% after sketch/lineart approval (non-refundable after the line art is approved by you)

3. 25% upon completion (non-refundable after the final artwork is sent to you)

Payment Options: PayPal, Solar Staff (for companies), Payoneer (for companies)

Stages of Work:

1. 1st Payment: You'll make a 50% upfront payment upon agreement.

2. Character & Concept Questionnaires: I'll provide you with detailed questionnaires to better understand your ideas.

3. Sketch & Approval: I'll create sketches and outlines based on your input. You'll approve the sketch before moving forward.

4. 2d payment (25%)

5. Colour & Detailing: After approval and 2nd payment, I'll start working on colouring and rendering your piece.

6. 3d Payment(25%)

7. Delivery: The final artwork will be delivered upon completion.

8. You get all the sketches and line art, and you can also post them online.

9. We'll use Google Drive to share project info and references.
    

Revisions:

• You can request up to 5 FREE major/minor corrections during the sketching stage, up to 3 minor corrections after the linear stage, and one free colour correction after completion.

• Major revision examples - completely change the pose or composition, add a large object that wasn't mentioned in the initial work description etc

• Minor revision examples - make character's  hair shorter/longer, make him smile instead of the serious face, and add a small accessory 
   

Client Responsibilities:

• Providing timely payment,  feedback, approval, and necessary information.​
   

License:  Your licence allows you to use the illustration solely for personal purposes in non-commercial contexts. You cannot modify, share, or use it for commercial use.

 

Ownership: I retain all copyrights and ownership of the illustration, including sketches and artwork. The licence is non-transferable.

AI Generation:  My work doesn't include any AI assistance and must not be used for AI generation.  Hiring me means that you agree not to use any part of the artwork, including sketches, for AI generation purposes.

Commercial Licence Price:

​

In most cases, a non-exclusive commercial licence costs at least 100% of the overall commission price. However, my Indie Achillean Authors Deal offers a 55% discount on the commercial licence.

Important Note:

• The regular commercial license allows you to use the artwork for book covers, sales, and small merchandise. However, I retain the copyright for self-promotion unless otherwise agreed.

• I can post cropped parts of the work process on my social media without disclosing the work title and the full image

• I can post the artwork and book cover on my social media and portfolio after the cover reveal

• Full NDA will add 25% to the price.
